The hotel was nice, I really enjoyed air-conditioned rooms and affable staff. My room included coffee/tea making equipment, ironing facilities and a work desk. I didn't want to say goodbye, spent very good time and would recommend...

Upgraded my room at no extra charge as I had stipulated a shower request, not a bath. This room however backed onto the tea garden, which thank fully was not busy, and on the bathroom side it backed onto a clothes drying back yard. The "lower" rung staff memebers were very friendly.
Headboard loose from wall so knocked against the wall as you moved, Rickety old fan , no ceiling fan, no airconditoner. Bathmats looked very unhygienic. Tried to pay two times but could not get a receipt as the computer was broken. The room backed onto the tea garden, which thank fully was not busy, and on the bathroom side it backed onto a clothes drying back yard and laundry. The staff in reception were very noisy sorting issues out right ontop of me whilst I was trying to eat breakfast, the breakfast room had no staff in it to help one. This is a conglomeration of a few old houses back to back with an upgrade long overdue, very tatty and tired.

I was pleasantly surprised. For a very reasonable rate, I stayed in a perfectly fine room- crisp white sheets, soft feather pillows -my most important needs. All amenities were there - satellite tv, shower, coffee/tea maker etc. Perfectly fine English breakfast included in tariff. Central location yet each room is surrounded by patios and gardens. (Some rooms however do look onto others or are close to more public areas.) I would definitely stay here again.
Some rooms do look onto others and you need to keep curtains closed at night; some rooms in the main building may have their privacy compromised by the conference centre next door, etc.

Good gardens and surroundings. Welcoming and hospital people. Access to Internet good. Well located for business
As with many South African Guesthouses, not enough strategically placed electrical sockets for computers and electronic gadgets.

Lovely spacious room, clean environment and good breakfast.
I was awoken rather late at night by a child playing in the hallways outside the room- the child seemed to live in the house permanently.

We had a fantastic time at this hotel. the value for money was excellent with affordable prices for a comfortable stay. Secondly, the attention to detail was impressive, with basic amenities provided and rooms that had both a shower and a bath. The large attached bathroom was a pleasant surprise. Lastly, the breakfast included in our stay was delicious, especially the great yoghurts served as dessert. We couldn't have asked for more!
All aspects of our stay were satisfactory.

The breakfast was yummy and had many options to choose from. the friendly staff made us feel welcome and gave us great tips about where to go in the area. the location was ideal for exploring the city with a large parking area.
Our room needed some upgrades and maintenance as there were old, worn curtains that let too much light in, and the shower head was old and did not work well. our room was quite cold and could have benefited from a heater or air conditioning unit.
